Microsoft Sharepoint Support

Just llike any other software solution, your Sharepoint server will require monthly, quarterly, and yearly maintenance plans to keep it running smoothly. Expert Assist programmers and Sharepoint administrators can either directly support your server, or provide backup support to your administrators.

Sharepoint Patches

Just as you patch Windows, Vista, Office, and Great Plains, regular patches and service patches are released by Microsoft to enhance or fix your Sharepoint server. Expert Assist administrators are available to aid in patching. *** we do prefer to do full instance backups before applying any critical updates.

Backup Planning and Implimentation

Expert Assist Sharepoint Administrators are available to support your organizations backup requirements with respect to your Sharepoint server. We can schedule standard asadmin backups that run as a typical windows scheduled task or we can help you implement an enterprise backup software such as Commvault.

Tuning

Database and application tuning are essential components for any successful Sharepoint implimentation. As your Sharepoint database grows, indexes need to be optimized and database tables need to be reindexed in order to maximize your SQL server's performance. Typical index tuning requires a day of monitoring before we determine what tables need indexes added, removed, or modified. In addition to database tuning there are other application level tuning opportinuties that required adjustments to search crawls, removal of old/ stale sites, and truncation of large lists or document libraries.

The Common "Daily" Task

Every piece of software has its weekness and Sharepoint's comes with its wide acceptance and subsequent user requesst. As more users begin to accept your Sharepoint server as a major repository, users tend to request additoinal sites, request additional features, and request permissions. Most of these requests can be addressed through careful permission inheritance and site planning, however, some access requests where users explicitly request access to secure sites will require daily attention.
