ExpertAssist’s core business is SharePoint consulting. We “grow” SharePoint resouces and place them at a variet of clients as needed. Our consultants will support, build, migrate, train, and, of course, architect depending on the client’s unique need.
Breakfix Support
Typically the realm of ExpertAssist founder, Ulysses Ludwig, ExpertAssist has provided breakfix support for many clients over the years. Be it a downed farm, failing search, a broken profile import, or bad code leaking memory, Ulysses favourite thing to do is troubleshoot an issue.
Training
Anybody who has worked with SharePoint is amazed at the scope of the software, it is simply massive and requires a tremendous amount of experience to understand. Even the brightest and most experienced SharePoint programmers and developers have rarely touched upon every SharePoint feature, many of SharePoint’s features are exclusive which means that a typical administrator will have no need to utilize a solution in light of another solution or even 3rd party product their current client uses. ExpertAssist knows that every SharePoint engagement is a training and learning experience, that is why we strive on providing training materials as needed, as built or formal documentation, or we provide formal training classes .
SharePoint Admin Staff Augmentation
Starting in early 2010 ExpertAssist started placing SharePoint admins. Our admins are placed directly with some clients while other admins are placed through staffing firms. Our value proposition is that our SharePoint admins aren’t simply placed at a client site and left to fend for themselves, in fact, that is far from the case. Our SharePoint admins, once placed, are typically supported up to 16 hrs per week for the first 2 weeks of the engagement and 4-8 hrs per week therafter. With this model, our clients are sure to get the daily support they need but also high level, stragetic and breakfix support from experts that might be otherwise too costly to keep on the payroll.
Custom SharePoint Development
ExpertAssist develops SharePoint products on a regular basis for a variety of needs that include SharePoint enhancements, custom application development, and SharePoint integration. A good example of our SharePoint enhancment development is the bulk edit tools sold on this site, a tool that provides additional functionality where SharePoint out-of-the-box falls short. The first thing you will hear from ExpertAssist LLC is that you should try to steer clear of development within SharePoint, the object model is complicated and requires a special kind of developer to successfully reign in the project to encompass only the necessary components. Business Process Automation
A large and quickly growing portion of ExpertAssist LLC’s business is Business Process Automation. In fact, a very common application we have developed, per each client’s unique needs, is some form of Legal Reqeust Application which isn’t quite a workflow but it’s also not a repository, it’s a bit of both and there’s notification and security implications that come into play. These applications take advantage of SharePoint’s best of breed technologies and then extend them to support a client’s unique and often complicated business process. Please note that in any workflow, ExpertAssist recommmends that you first attempt to visio the process before engaging a developer, if it can’t be visio’d then most likely the development project will fail.
